Detective Eli Ramos
Eli Ramos joined the Guardian Defense team as an instructor in 2024 and quickly made his audience feel at ease with his calm and assuring demeanor.

Eli joins the team with an extensive law enforcement background since 2011. He is currently a certified law enforcement officer at a metropolitan police department in south Florida. He previously served as a patrolman and detective in various investigation units related to theft, burglaries, and robberies. Presently, Eli represents the Violent Crimes Fugitive Unit as a deputized Task Force Officer with the U.S. Marshals Service.

Eli joined the Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) team as an operator in 2015 and currently serves as an instructor since 2021. He and his team responded to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass casualty incident (February 14, 2018) and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport active shooter incident (January 6, 2017).

Having received a Florida General Instructors Techniques certificate from Broward College (64 hours) and a Florida Defensive Tactics Instructor certificate from the Broward Sheriff’s Office (40 hours), Eli is one of the lead Defensive Tactics Instructors for his department. Eli serves as the Vehicle Immobilization Technique (VIT) instructor and Honor Guard member since 2014.

Eli has also attended Gracie Survival Tactics, Extreme Close Quarter Concepts (ECQC), Gun Retention and Counter Retention, and Close Quarter Combat for LEOs courses.

Eli is a 3-time Lifesaving Award recipient for efforts with a gunshot victim (neck), a stabbing victim (chest and neck), and a stabbing that resulted in a double pneumothorax. He is an Officer of the Month recipient (March 2023) and earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice.
