Here’s a look at how dedication, proactive leadership, and continuous training are setting a high standard for emergency preparedness in K-12 education.

At Guardian Defense, our mission is simple: to empower schools, organizations, and communities with the training and guidance necessary to prepare for and respond to critical emergencies. Over the past year, we have had the privilege of partnering with Foundation Academy, a premier private, faith-based Christian school in Winter Garden, Florida, serving students from prekindergarten through high school across three campuses.

Together, we completed a full year under the Guardian Platinum Package for School Safety, transforming safety plans, updating policies, and conducting hands-on staff emergency and active threat response training. As we wrapped up our first year this summer, we were thrilled to present two major awards recognizing exceptional dedication to school safety.

Recognized for Excellence: Two Well-Deserved Awards

Safety is a continuous culture, not a one-time event. Foundation Academy’s leadership, faculty, and staff have exemplified what it means to lead with a proactive mindset. To honor their commitment, Guardian Defense presented two key recognitions:

1. Guardian Defense Platinum Partner School Designation – Foundation Academy

Foundation Academy was officially recognized as a Guardian Defense Platinum Partner School. Serving three campuses, two of which are integrated with church staff and community events, presents unique operational considerations. Over the 2025–2026 engagement, Foundation Academy strengthened its overall preparedness through:

  • Customized Emergency Response Planning: Developing a comprehensive plan with streamlined, plain-talk response options across all campuses.
  • Hands-On Staff Training: Equipping over 200 employees with practical, scenario-based active threat response skills.
  • Emergency Response Team (ERT) Deployment: Establishing campus zones, custom checklists, and leadership protocols.
  • Enhanced Drill Execution & Documentation: Setting structured drill schedules, logs, and after-action evaluations.

2. Leadership Excellence in School Safety & Preparedness – Robert East, COO

A strong safety culture requires strong leadership. We were proud to present the Certificate of Completion to Robert East.

As Chief Operating Officer, Robert completed over **10 hours of executive safety consulting and coaching**. His hands-on leadership, strategic direction, and steady collaboration were instrumental in navigating campus assessments, establishing Emergency Response Teams, and embedding preparedness into daily operations.

Continuing the Mission: Moving Into Year 2

Completing a foundational year is a massive milestone, but true emergency preparedness requires ongoing refinement. We are excited to announce that Foundation Academy has renewed its partnership with Guardian Defense for Year 2!

In the upcoming academic year, we will continue building on this strong foundation through updated policy reviews, advanced drill facilitation, ongoing staff refresher training, and continued executive coaching.
