At our company, we put the health and safety of people first. Guardian Defense helped us empower our employees with the knowledge necessary to protect and defend life thus minimizing mass casualties in the event of an active shooter. The Guardian Defense Active Threat Response Program received a 4.72 out of 5.00 for effectiveness based on survey results (47 responses). In addition, employees shared what actions they would take if faced with an active threat and what learnings they will incorporate into their daily routines. I wanted to express my sincere gratitude to Guardian Defense. I’ve received nothing but positive feedback from those that attended training last week. A number of people have even stopped by my office to let me know their feelings about the training. Jared has been receiving rave reviews for his presentation and engagement with the audience. My name is Nancy Goldstein, Early Childhood Director of The Ruth and Edward Taubman Early Childhood Center. My entire staff and myself participated in Active Threat Response Training for Schools. We have decided to participate due to the frequency of threats in schools throughout the US and Europe. The training not only included an interactive lecture but real life training with various scenarios. We found it to be empowering and meaningful. Hopefully we will never have to act in a crisis situation but we are now prepared.
Thanks again for an incredible day of training! We learned so many practical tips that will enable us to secure our campus and protect our students much more effectively. The staff now feels much more empowered and equipped to handle an intruder situation. Our middle school principal and several teachers said this was by far the best staff training we've ever had. On behalf of the Woodstock Police Department, I wish to thank you and your team for your hard work and efforts in helping to bring the Single Officer Response to Active Shooter Course to Woodstock. The importance of this training cannot be overstated. Your superb professionalism and skill in presenting the concepts and techniques involved in the [course] greatly enhanced the ability of all of the officers to grasp the material. This will, undoubtedly, allow the officers to be able to confront future threats, should the need arise, and win, thus saving lives.
Steven Smith is professional, knowledgeable and a great speaker. His presentation was dynamic and fluid. Steven was able to relate to our audience of commercial property managers and service providers. He gave us 5 tips to make sure we know what to do in the event of a violent situation at work. It’s scary but necessary to be prepared. The lessons we learned will greatly benefit us if we ever need to take action, to hopefully stay safe and unharmed.
This was the most valuable training I have ever experienced, and I know that the Middle School Team echoes my assessment. Your team is exceptional -- professional, compassionate, knowledgeable, and "down to earth." The most important lesson I learned is that if we have an incident, we have tools and strategies that we can use to defend ourselves. Prior to the training, I just figured we would have "no chance." I learned from the Simulation ways to fight. I learned how to keep calm through my breathing and what the critical steps are to do in a real life situation.
During the Simulation portion of the ACT School Program, initially I felt great trepidation and fear. However, as the simulation commenced, I felt much more prepared, and therefore I will be more effective.
What I like most about the Lecture was the step by step approach to teaching that made me feel secure
The ACT program was a fantastic training experience for our faculty and staff. We received essential training necessary to prepare us for the possible emergency. This is an opportunity that every school staff should have.
I will use what I learned to talk to my kids about an active shooter.
What I liked most about the Mock Scenario was the practice! It helped us create a plan and practice it.
The Lecture portion of the program opened our eyes to the reality that an intruder could come on campus.
What I liked more about the ACT School Program Lecture was the practicality. It was the best drill our school has ever done.
This was the BEST thing our school has ever done for us.
I think this concept is pure genius. So needed. I'm completely in awe.
